Hi,

We've successfully negotiated an UG from EC to PE via VH. The on-line system will not give us the option to pre-selct any seats in PE (we want them in the upper deck). Having spoken with the call centre, we have been told that the remaining seats will be made available for reservation 24 hours before the flight. as we have 2 children with us, we somehow want to find a way to sit in 2 blocks of 2 on the upper deck, either behind or adjacent).

Can anyone let me know if there is a way for us to reserve these seats before May 14th? Are there still seats available in this section that haven't been reserved? We'd really not want to have to sit in that small bunch of PE seats downstairs so any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks

The problem will be that the 60% of seats that are available for pre-selecting will have already been taken now. The remaining 40% will open up at OLCI stage, 24 hours before your flight.

There is really nothing you can do about this now. I would imagine also, that the chance of getting seats in the bubble will be quite limited. The only seats that usually aren't available for pre-selection up there are the Exit Row seats and if you have children you won't be able to have these (these are only available for allocating at airport check in).

Your best bet is to do OLCI at exactly 24hours before hand, bag whatever seats you can and then also get to the airport as early as possible and see what is available there also.

Good luck and even if you do end up being down stairs, I am sure you will have a good flight.

Cheers for the fast answer Neil.

Is there no magic loophole that I can follow or try within VS? Seems a bit silly to only release 60% of the seats in advance.

No afraid there really isn't anything you can do. VS need to hold a certain % back to accommodate all the people who don't/can't pre-select seats, like families etc, also there are transiting/connecting pax that need to be taken in to account.

Also, I have just realised you are booked through VH. VH have a special allocation for pax in the front half of the upper deck, where as pax booked direct with VS have the rear half of the upper deck. So, it is quite possible all the VH seats upstairs have gone and you might have to stick with downstairs.

As I said before, doing OLCI will give you the best option of seats available.

You could contact VH and ask them to put you in their bubble allocation.

If you do, can you let us know how you get on ? I tried that for our VH BGI trip in August and was told to use the VS website, and hence have access only to the rear half of the bubble.

Thanks
