I've read that specific fare codes can be searched on the VA website but can't find how to do so. Can someone explain where to look?

For some reason it is tucked away, and I can't find any page that links to it from the home page. It isn't perfect by any means, as you can only select L B & Y; but it is better than it used to be.
It was introduced with a fair amount of publicity, but now seems to be almost hidden. [?]

When I first found the link, it was only by accident. I don't think there has ever been a link on the homepage or through the main booking engine.
Maybe they have it hidden in the flying club section so that only people who have a bit of an idea what it means use it and it doesn't confuse the 'average Joe' type of customer who might by accident end up booking a higher fare because they didn't understand what everything meant.

They did a thing on their Facebook page when it was launched, this is where I found the link again.
A couple of people asked questions about why it was so limited in what it could do and their reply was it's simply due to system limitations, but we're already working on a fix to allow open jaws and mixed classes. [?]
Since then, it has been very quiet.

Thanks for the guidance. So do you have to book your ticket first and then go back and upgrade? What if an upgrade isn't available on the date you book?
I tend to depart from either NYC or LAX - but I notice the L fare doesn't seem to be available from LAX.
Also, I guess it doesn't provide for multi-city bookings.

At the moment, the system is still pretty useless for actually making a reward booking, when upgrading from a lower cabin. It is good for pricing it up and as DL says you can still do dummy reward bookings to check availability, but to do the actual upgrade you will still need to call FC.
