Been trying to check in for my flight to Dubai tomorrow.

Booked via VH and flying Man > LHR (BMI) and then LHR > DXB (VS)

Already OLCI with BMI this afternoon. I have tried OLCI for the VS flight but keep getting this message:

quote: Sorry we are unable to continue with your Check In. Please go to the Virgin Atlantic Tickets and Support Desk for assistance at the airport.

I have phoned VS and first time got Indian Call centre who told me there was a problem with security, couldn't tell me more over the phone.

Tried again, this time Indian Call Centre told me there was a problem with Man > LHR part of booking, as VH had not booked it, therefore I had to speak to VH to resolve.

Spent neatly an hour on the phone to very helpful lady at VH who kept speaking to someone at VS, who has told her there is no problem with my booking, but still very worried.

Can anybody shed any light on this - please

Does your first flight leg from MAN to LHR have a BD or VS flight number?

If it has a VS flight number, it's probably beacuse this is a code-share flight. I dont think VS can check you in for bmi or any other code-share flights can they?

I'll be doing the same thing in 2 weeks when I fly MAN>LHR>JFK on a single VS PNR which will be a first for me as I usually book the domestic legs seperatley. I'll let you know what happens.

If your first flight has a BD flight number, you need to ask VH for your bmi PNR as this will be different to your VS one.

I have already managed to check-in OK with BMI via their own site.

Its just the VS part I'm having a problem with.

I can go to manage my booking etc and the flight is here, its just the fact that its telling me I have to 'go to the Virgin Atlantic Tickets and Support Desk for assistance at the airport.' rather than just 'check-in' at the airport that is worrying me.

One of my customers has the sme problem whenever he flys VS. They will never let him do online check-in, the kiosks never work for him and he has to be manually checked in at the desks.
The complete pain is that he works about 30 minutes from the airport and if he could do OLCI he'd be able to do a full days work before heading to the airport and speed through but as he can't he has to take a little bit of time off.
It is something to do with your profile in the VS computers. For me, whatever I do when booking my tickets, as soon as I put my FC number in it turns me into a woman!
