D fare prices to SFO

I'm looking for a D to SFO back from LAX in October to use a companion voucher ... price on the VS Web site is coming back as 6,400 which seems steep to me. Does anyone know better?

That's a standard DAP7 - they've always been a rip-off.

The GOOD news on companion fares is they can be used against routedeals. SO... if your routedeal means you can get a J for around 4k to SFO, then the companion is good against that.


Otherwise, the slowly creeping prices of D and J's on this route for the past 6/7 years will kill you. [n]

Thanks Paul - it did come as a shock, especially since I did a D to Sydney last September for 5,000 ...

However, I wake up this morning and there's a sale ... so it's two Zeds for the #1 and me en vacation! At nearly half the price, it's a steal [:D].
