I may have royally messed up.

In an effort to make our Anniversay that much better, i moved up my family's flight to London two days. It was the middle of the night and i wantedto make it a surprise and I thought iwas doing a good thing. Now I'm not so sure.

My main issue has to do with seat assignments. My wife and I are travelling with our 7-year old son in PE. When I made the outgoing flight switch, the VA Red Level Flying Club lady never mentioned seat assignments.

When it dawned on me that I didn't have seat assignments, I called back. I was told that I had to wait until 24-hours before the flight.

I had us booked in A/C/D seat configuration, my wife and son in A and C with me accross the aisle in D. Now I'm stuck figuring out how to work this out at hte last minute.

Further, I was informed today that I cannot request help over the phone - seat assignments have to be done via the internet only and calling Flying Club won't help. I'm sot sure whet my internet evailablity will be at 1630 on Oct 3rd.

SO - any advice for a well intentioned, but poorly foresighted husband and father like me..? All suggestions/advice is sincerely appreciated.

First thing is not to panic. Only 60% of seats are available for pre-selection anyway, so even if you can't get anything semi decent now, when OLCI opens, the remaining 40% of seats (excluding bulk heads and exit rows) will become available. So my advice would be to ensure you are ready for OLCI opening exactly 24hrs before your flight departure time and try and grab the best seats you can. If that still doesn't work, when you check in at the airport they might be able to give you the bulkhead if you get there early enough.

When you changed your flight did you already have a PNR consisting of a mixture of 6 letters and numbers? If so then you should be able to use that on your manage my booking page on the website. Alternatively you may have been given an alternative one so try that. If you have an eticket then it will be on that.

If that is unsuccessful then, as Neil says more seats become available later at OLCI
