Hi

I wonder if anyone can help. My wife and I have U Class companion seats booked in PE for return flights to Orlando in November. We bought these with miles and money + the companion upgrade from our Virgin Black card. There is a possibility that we may need to cancel.

The question is, can we expect to get our money and miles back. Or have they gone for ever?

Many Thanks
Pete

So you used miles for an economy reward ticket (U fare) and then upgraded to PE using the PE upgrade vouchers and paid cash for the taxes etc? If that is the case, then you should get 75% of the miles returned, plus any taxes you have paid if you cancel. I am not sure but you I imagine you will lose your PE upgrade vouchers.

If at all possible, your best option would be to try and move dates, as this will enable you to not lose any miles and the fare rules allow this with only a small amendment fee.

Getting taxes back is possible, but never quick - don't expect to see any money for at least three months, if my previous experiences are anything to go by!

I think that the upgrade vouchers will be recredited to your account, although the vouchers will still have the same expiry date as they did originally.
