Bonus miles tips

Hello everyone,

I'm very new to this whole FC and VF cult but very quickly becoming a bit of a mileage collectomaniac!! The perfect type of target customer for this type of loyalty scheme I know.

I'm aware of some of the bonus miles schemes currently running such as the Virgin CC where you get 3000 miles with your first purchase and Virgin Wine Club where you get 500 / 750 miles with your first purchase but my question is....

Are there any other ways of using Virgin organisations to earn FC bonus miles?? I've heard about Virgin Casino offering a bonus offer on miles but not sure if this is still running?

Also, does FC offer any referral incentive or promotional offers throughout the year?

Another miles whore, welcome to the club.

There are loads of ways to enhance your miles, all the earning details can be found in the flying club section of the VS site. It gives details of earning on VS and all the partner companies.

There are referral earning opportunities also, the miles more friends scheme can be a good way to boost your miles.

The best earning I have found is the black credit card. 6000 miles first spend bonus, 2miles per 1 spend, plus 4xmiles on VS purchases (currently 6xmiles as they have a promo on).

Have a good read through the site too, as there have been numerous threads on this subject that might give you some more ideas.

To add more info about the Virgin Black Amex offer, the 3x and 6x offers are for November and December only, and require a minimum spend of 1500 in each month...

The email was targeted. The amount differs according to various reports. I didn't get an email [:(!]

Although it is currently closed there have been offers of 5000 miles bonus on Virgin Money ISA's, worth keeping an eye out for.

There is also the e-rewards site where you get points for doing on-line surveys and you can convert these points FC miles.

There are loads of offers (hotel stays/car hire/airport parking/doing surveys), and they are changing all the time. If you take a look at the flying club section on the VS site, then you will be able to see all the ways to earn miles, company, by region, category etc, and you can then see which, if any, you will be able to take advantage of.

My wife and I both used the casino deal a couple of years ago. From memory, a 20 stake had to be gambled. I lost my money, my wife won 20 and we both ended up with 3,000 miles each. Even if we had lost, 20 for 3,000 points (and a play of a few games) was a good deal.

I use an American Express card for everything and look for the 15% additional miles deals when transfering to flying club (usually once or twice a year).

Texaco Star points can also be transfered to flying club.

We used to fill our car up, buy a Sunday paper and earn points from both Amex and Texaco.
