Seems like they even have their very own SRB! [:w]
With customer approvals like that they may be back to VS for more.

T10 and sleepsuits!
Plenty more pictures hereand even a simulation on YouTube.
They are talking about a possible extension of the lease to 5 years!
Obviously very proud of their new acquisition.

Been playing around with looking at some flights from LGW this afternoon, and several routes seem to be operating on the A340-300 (Orlando and some Carribean) - wonder what the 747's are going to do, and if these are pulling off LHR routes?
Always planning a trip somewhere!

Some aircraft are doing some middle east to middle east routes for some reason (onbe is Dubai to Bahrain ISTR) - complete with Crew.
In addition the LHRs are being re-configured for Y seats upstairs as reported in other posts.

And that would tally with their concerns over taking G-VAST and her age originally. Somehow I doubt that ROM will actually ever return if the lease is extended to 5 years. In 5 years VS will have a plethora of new aircraft (hopefully) and I would imagine that the need for 744s will be limited by then.
As for the 343 operating on LGW routes, it has been done in the past and is not surprising given the amount of fleet changes we are seeing at the moment as HG points out. It seems that VS are becoming much more fluid with which aircraft operate from which base. One has to wonder exactly what the long term plan is and how long the 744's will last once the newer aircraft arrive. I know others disagree but I could certainly see a couple of 330's being used ex LGW on smaller routes but operating with more frequency or eliminating the need for the double drop that happens on Caribbean routes.

Arrived into Gatwick late Friday night and was surprised to see 2 Virgin 747's parked up overnight. Always thought Gatwick was a tight schedule so to see 2 parked seemed unusual. Anyone know why?
