I'd like a choice. Depending on How much time I had.

Isn't there sort of both in the LHR Clubhouse, with the deli?

Exactly what I was thinking. I definitely prefer having the choice. If I am having a proper dinner in the CH I prefer full service but if I am snacking then I like to help myself from the deli. The full service is something I miss when travelling on BA in Club. I dont mind helping myself but full service does always feel like more of a luxury in a lounge.

Thanks,
Sarah

I was thinking the same thing, BA only do a full service in their First and Concorde lounges if I'm correct [n]

I must of missed the deli at LHR . probably becuase I was so caught up in experiencing the CH for the first time!

The deli counter is on the left as you walk in, next to the cloakroom/shoe shine area, right before you enter the dining area. It's a counter, not so much of an area, but well stocked with many good snacks. Easy to miss if you don't look closely at what's going on, just looks like an addendum to the restaurant, but it is in fact self service. The choice is nice, of course, but being able to help yourself is the most important, for when you're in a rush. Busy lounges make full service a non-starter, they are simply not staffed and set up to handle large crowds. LHR CH is impressive in that it does a pretty good job with a borderline too busy at times environment. Service can suffer a bit when it's really busy. I always loved dining at the bar when I had the option to do it, with one of their good bar staff mixing cocktails to order and experimenting with me, and pouring different wines out, it was just too much fun.
