can anyone give me any info on the v-room at Gatwick have read as much as I can find on this website. Have booked thru Virgin Holidays, we are going to check in night before as no seats were available on the seat plan when we booked in January! So want to make sure we get the bubble. is it ok for a breakfast and can you get to duty free area? Any info would be appreciated.

Hi Mallin

I have used the V-room quite a few times and i can report that its all good news!

There is an area to grab hot breakfast things, its served to you not help yourself, they are a little tight on what they give, but nothing stopping you going up again and again! plenty of other bits and bobs and plenty of smoothies and soft drinks, tea and coffee etc.

If your feeling posh, you can always go to the bar and get a nice champagne and orange juice, i think its around £5, but really refreshing.

The V-room is away from the main shopping area, so would suggest getting any duty free items before heading into the V-room.

If your trying to avoid children, head to the far end where its adults only.

Have fun!!

I would suggest that you do OLCI 24 hours before your flight as more seats will be released then. You might even find some seats released a couple of hours before OLCI. If you do be sure to do OLCI at least 13 hours before the flight in order to keep them

hi
i used the V-Room for the first time back in April and thought it was brilliant.
as posts above say Breakfast is served to you but is in an all you can eat basis so you can keep going back.
As we went in they stamped our boarding passes so as we could go in and out to the main departure lounge and duty free if we wanted to (we didnt as there were only 15 people in the V-Room and several thousand downstairs)
if you are staying in a hotel overnight have you thought about twighlight check in. this makes it easier in the morning as you can go straight through security without queing for check-in.

if this link works here is a promotional video

hope you enjoy the V-Room and your flight.

We went into the V Room for the first time in May and really enjoyed it, good food and nice place to chill out.

I particularly love the plane spotting, my Husband loved that I was enjoying the plane spotting and not spending any money in duty free :|

Thats not always the case... on my last flight, i had checked in online pretty much as it opened and bagged 77k. Then when i got to the airport i was given a boarding card with 74k on it. No big deal though.

Out of interest, wonder what they would of done if i had 'lost' the boarding card with 74k printed on it that i was given at the airport and had sat in 77k and shown the boarding card that i had printed off when i did OLCI?

Well then when onboard there would have been two of you with 77K on boarding cards assuming the flight was full. The crew would have then asked the ground staff to verify who should be sitting in that seat and where the other person should be sitting and then ask them to move there.

I made a mistake in that piece of information. As can be seen here there has been a change and it only applies to flights from LHR
Virgin Atlantic
