How long for an Au card to arrive?

Looks like I've re-qualified for a gold card - how long from when you see the "congratulations..." message on the VAA/FC account page to when the card itself actually arrives?

I think it depends on when your year is up if it is a re-qualification. I seem to remember re-qualifying very early one year but having to wait months for the new card

I got my renewal in June and I seem to recall the new card and luggage tags came about two weeks before the old one expired.

I actually "qualified" for a silver back in April, having not accrued enough points to retail gold. However, recently, after a lot of travelling, I've hit the relevant Gold threshold very quickly hence I was wondering that although I've got the confirmation on my account of new Au status, when I might actually get the physical card?

Ah I see. I was in the same situation a couple of years back when I moved from Silver to Gold. I recall I was flying soon after achieving Au status, and having not received my new card, I called up the Au hotline and asked them to send one pronto as I assumed the original must be lost in the post! They did and I got the "replacement" a week later ..... closely followed by the original

I'm 4 tier points away from Au, so my flight out to NYC on Monday will get me that. Was hoping that my Au card would be waiting for me when I get home 12 days later.

We shall see.....

It took over three months for mine to arrive after the qualifying flight!!

Mine took a couple of weeks (tacky looking things that they are).
