Firstly I promise to do the two TR's, however I just felt I needed to share my check in experience last Wednesday with you all.

My GF and I purchased two W tix back in Jan this year and immediately snared 79a & C at time of booking. OLCI was fine on the way out and we naturally confirmed our original choice, so to t-24 for 13 October VS44, after originally encountering problems with my iPhone doing the check in, we completed the process, again confirming 79a & c. Day of travel we were called forward by the agent who simply requested our passports, after a few taps she confirmed us to be seated in 77a & c, I challenged her on this suggesting we had checked in on line the previous day to which she initially replied in panto fashion "oh know you haven't". This exchange went on for about 2-3 mins with her finally ringing her supervisor who over the phone confirmed that whilst we had checked in we only confirmed one passenger of two!!!, whilst we continued to challenge her on this and of course having trouble downloading the confirmation email back to my phone we reluctantly accepted the boarding cards and headed for departures, until i came to an abrupt having looked at the BP's. You couldn't make it up!!! Both boarding passes had the wrong first names and in the space of 10 mins according to the surname on my GF's BP we were married (she now had my surname). Yep in a nutshell a couple travelling with an identical surname to me had checked into 77a a & c and the agent had given us their boarding passes, I returned to the desk and although I know it's rude, lent over the couple she was now dealing with to advise her of the mistake, the couple she was dealing were in fact the very people that I had BP's for, well she went as red as her uniform, anyway problem solved, except one final twist on retrieving bags at Gatwick I noticed a parcel addressed for this couple and they live in the next street to my Inlaws!!!

Wow, I guess you guys had a pretty tough time there, but IMHO, LAS check in is an experience all to itself!

I have never had a straight forward check in, there is always something wrong or not right etc. The first time I used OLCI, I confirmed both pax in 76 A and C but when we got to check in, the BP's showed us downstairs, I did question this at the time and was told that seats are not guaranteed, anyway long story short, I made my feelings known, we were called forward at the gate and changed to seats upstairs, great in the finish, but does leave a slight sour taste.

I'll be honest, this is a really simple mistake to make, I've done it myself a couple of times and sometimes you notice and sometimes you miss it. If you're not completely on the ball, it doesn't matter how experienced you are, you'll clock the first surname on the system and won't think twice about it.

I will bow to Lizz's great knowledge of the check in procedure, but I have also had issues with the check in there, for whatever reason they can't seem to understand how I have a British passport, but no type of visa (green card holder).

I think this proves that mistakes can happen, but it's how those errors are handled which creates the lasting impression on customers...
