I only did a short SFO-SEA in First, so didn't get to experience it properly. The touch screen TV didn't have a great viewing angle, so felt a little odd. As much as I laugh about the Virgin Seat Demo, it would have been nice to have a card with the details on, telling me where to plug my headphones in, massage function etc. but there was nothing.

The seat was very comfy though, and the overhead bins were quite spactious, but the policy of charging MC for luggage means everyone tries to fit everything onboard. People were putting their bags in the first class bins, and there were announcements on both flights asking for volunteers to check bags in for free, trying to tempt them with priority boarding if they did it. I'd get on board quick, even if in FC.

Food and drink were quite good, just snacks though on such a short flight, though I couldn't order anything on the TV, said to ask for anything, wasn't sure if this was normal for FC or just because of the flight time.

Have done a short hop between SFO - LAS and back

Service is comparable to AA and DL First Class and I would suggest taking Row 2 as you do feel that extending in Row 1 could inconvience passengers behind. (That said I did have Preiffer behind me who could easily rest his feet on my seat ): )The seat has so many options, that is far better than AA and DL.

I would certainly book again

The IFE had far too much to choose from for such short flights :D

I have taken several trancons in VX First and I love it - the seat is really comfortable even for sleeping, the IFE is first rate, drinks-food-snacks served with a smile and no problem for more (don't forget you also get free food from the Y menu), on my flights I've had great crew (who have protected the bins and loos from incursions). Being 5'8" I find the front row more than adequate for space etc. and like that no one reclines into me.

T3 is it at LAX where VX is based is not the most fully featured terminal, so I'd leave it as late as possible to get there.

I love VX first, it is probably the only domestic first product I would actually pay for.

Being 6'3 I do prefer row 2, but row 1 is fine for those 6'0 or under. One small problem I have had (on 4 different aircraft) is the audio jack seems to be the weak link, it's never worked 100% for me.
