Recommendation for Car Hire in Barbados

We have decided to hire a car for 3 or 4 days while we are there. There seem to be quite a few companies around but can't find anything with customer reviews; except on the rental companies websites.

Anyone got a view on good companies or ones to avoid?

We've used Drive-A-Matic for the last few years and they've proved to be most reliable. Good delivery, clean cars and well priced. They can't do much about you getting lost around the island though - and believe me - you will get lost...

We were there 2.5 years ago and gave up trying to find Bathsheba and Bottom Bay! :0

I see drive-a-matic offer Bajan Nav so we may rent that from them.

Drive - a -matic for me too. I've used them 3 times without a problem.

'Bajan Nav'? You've really got to let me know how that works out for you. Here's hoping it comes complete with a laid-back Barbadian accent.

We found Bathsheba on our first trip; however, Mount Hillaby took a couple of attempts over different years, and we didn't discover Bottom Bay until our third 'expedition'. I think the road signing system is devised by the tourism board to make you keep coming back...

A vote for drive-a-matic here too. My parents have leased a car of them for 6 months for the last 6 years and they have always been very reliable and easy to deal with.
