Hi,

Does anyone know why I cant seem to book a flight to return on the 19th Aug from LAX via Virgins website. Just says no flights, yet Expedia and such will happily let me book.

Also, does Business Class via Expedia = Upper Class ?

Ta.

Suggest it's a glitch - I can see one way fares in all cabins for LAX-LHR on 19 August currently.

Yes, if you look at Expedia business class is indeed Upper Class.

ooh, didnt know they did that.

Last time I flew, they would not match a codeshare fare, so I ended up going via Virgin on a Continental booking for about £300 less. This was in 2008 and my last econ flight.... FLight back from hell with the person pushing the seat right back all the way helped me decide that its PE/Upper from now on

VS seams to have a system where if the cabin is full it says 'no flights' rather than 'cabin full'. It gets rasieed here every now and then.

Well, gave them a call and they quoted me £23K !!! that is from MAN-LHR-LAX return in upper. Expedia were showing the same for £11.5K. She then looked for just LHR-LAX and quoted me £11.6K which is 2.5K higher than the current sale fare anyway, so I dont quote understand what system she was checking.

Gave me food for thought though, as I am now going to book direct LHR-LAX for £9K and pay £600 for a return taxi to the north west.. So indirectly.. my post this morning has saved me £2K :)

Thanks

It's possible that all the sale fare tickets had been sold whihc is why you couldn't get one.

tontybear - fares are still showing online which is why I was confused.

Neil - its for 4 of us. I dont fancy hauling the 10 pieces of luggage from T1/5 to T3. rather get a cab to drop me off at the door. Plus once you total up the cost for 4 + extra bags, its more than the cab. Then I will have toi pay for a cab from Manchester to Preston too.

If you qualify for a CDC (and it only takes one of you to be on a J,D or R) then just pay the difference to take you home. That is what my family always does either with Virgin or BA First (2 Adults and 2 Children/teenagers) to Yorkshire. Like you they would never take an internal flight - too much hastle and feel driving after such a long flight an unwise step.

I thought BA had finished the "free" taxi offer, wasn't it only a 3 month trial?

The free "taxi" was indeed for all Club World; a CDC is offered for some PAX depending on fare code and EC level when booked in First.
