All June Reward flight availability disappeared overnight!

Hello All,

I am trying to make a return flight booking using my air miles on Virgin from NYC-London. I checked last night for flights today... lots of availability both leaving and returning later this week.

This morning, I checked again and... all gone. Nothing departing until July 4. I called Virgin who confirmed this. I really don't understand how all the available flights disappeared in the space of 12 hours!

Any ideas? What are the chances some more flights will pop up this week?

Sorry to say it, but when it comes to reward flight, 'snooze, you lose'.

If you see them available for the dates and route you want, don't hesitate. I can guarantee that you won't be the only one looking.

As for more appearing, All I can suggest is keep looking and if they do, BUY THEM!

You have to remember that there are only a limited number of reward seats available on any route and that people from both sides of the pond will be looking for them so there is a lot of competition.

Although there are several flights a day between NYC and LON there will only be a limited number of Reward seats available accross them.

I have looked for availability in the past and found some, then went back an hour later after looking into other arrangements only to find the flight options available reduced when I went to book.

The one piece of advice I've quickly learnt with Virgin is that the prices change almost as frequently as lady gaga changes her hairstyle. Always buy when you're happy with the price

Also bear in mind that FC will make a provisional booking for you and effectively hold seats for upto 24-72 hours if you ask nicely.. that might be a Gold only perk, but it's been invaluable for me when I've been trying to sort things out for trips.

Can confirm i've been able to get virgin to hold reward flights even though i'm only a lowly red member (though i was booking UC).
