LOL - sorry that's hysterical!

Is VS really ready for up to date IFE?? Assume this was JAM!

It's almost like the time somone in HR emailed the minutes from a disciplinary to the entire office!

To be perfectly frank...my reaction would have been consternation....followed by hysterical laughter when I found out what had happened..

..I trust PE pax have a better sense of humour than Virgin HR.....I would have thought profuse apologies followed by copious quantities of alcohol would have seen most pax ok.....

How unfortunate :D

Another "Never miss an opportunity to claim if it was not your fault" I am sure BGR Bloomer and the rest were waiting for the plane to land to get the forms in n(

I agree that most people should have seen the funny side of things - but that will not stop the race for compensation

Absolutely Brilliant! It always astounds me how people will try to claim compensation for ANYTHING these days.

I think sacking the CC and FSM is a bit harsh - Ok, it shouldn't have happened - but it was just a bit of banter between the crew which went wrong.

Maybe the VS IT team have been giving the crew lessons on JAM? :w

I should add that Ive seen this on twitter, and don't read the sun!

Are you sure? We won't think any less of you!

Somewhat ironic that the Suns website with this has links to "babe" videos and "page 3" a to z. So I am told;-)

Ah the 'harmless fun' defence. Thats no defence these days (and tbh was never an acceptable defence)

VS have come down on this sort of thing in the past and the staff involved whould have been aware of VS policy in this area. Something on the lines of 'inapproriate use of equipment'

Besides it dosen't inspire much confidence in the crew being able to cope in an emergency if they can't even operate the IFE !

I think the nature of the word used (often deemed to be one of the worst!) may determine the result of any disciplinary action, I suspect some may have seen it as a bit of harmless fun but parents not so much. I certainly wouldn't have been happy if my children (if I had any!) saw that particular word on their screen.

I was raised not to use that word and would probably still get a good hiding if my parents heard me use it!

I'd be inclined to agree with that and I still would give my son a good hiding for using it except that he's much bigger than me. Fortunately the situation does not arise :D

Two hours later ..."some would see it as harmless fun" .."ah, the harmless fun defence" ...is that a poke at me I wonder? Like I said, what was supposed to have been a PRIVATE joke between colleagues went horribly wrong..... and, quite rightly they should be disciplined for their actions.

Summer not a 'poke' at you but a response to your 'harmless fun' comment.

Where do you draw the line?

Would a sexist or racist comment be 'harmless' ? In some industries a bit of harmless fun can lead to serious injury or death.

These people were adults in the workplace not school kids. Yes they can enjoy themselves at work but not in this way and certainly not when pax be become involved.

I am surprised pax are not being offered counselling - another "in thing" which stands alongside inappropriate compensation claims. ):

I suggest you read all comments before replying.

I find it hysterical and see it as harmless fun - that's my personal view.

However, I can appreciate that if I was a parent, I would not have been happy at all if my child saw that word. Hence the reason, IF i was a parent, I would have complained.

Perhaps try not taking posts personally - nothing has been directed at you.

Whist I appreciate it was meant for Cabin Crew, they could not have picked the route with probably the most families and kids on board!

I wouldn't have been happy if my kids saw it to be honest :(.
