In my experience of ringing the VS premier team, I can't say I'm suprised with the wait - staffing levels would be low this time of night.

I gave up ringing VS direct several years ago, ultimately due to poor service and appalling wait times - always go through PTS now when I need to book travel.

The AU lines do get answered a little faster, but not by much in my experience.

Thanks Luke,

I phoned again and got straight through to IR, a very helpful person. Our son is out in Cyprus on holiday and managed to burn his feet and is unable to even leave his hotel room, this is his 5th day. We felt so sorry for him I wanted to surprise him by booking a flight to come with us in August.

He has never flown economy to USA and when I told him that was where he was sitting,(on the outbound flight he will be flying alone and at a later date) he was shocked but just glad to be going. IR at FC managed to upgrade him to PE both ways for only £150 extra, not bad for August. We are doing LHR-MIA-LHR he will be doing LGW-MCO-MIA-LHR. We didn't fancy having to drive to MIA to pick him up.

My next question is, will he be able to access the lounge at MIA and the revivals on our return?

If you and your husband are Gold FC holders or flying Upper Class then you can take one guest each into the CH however Revivals is only open to those who have booked a UC seat or Gold Car holders i.e. no guests at any time allowed.

Glad you got through Karen and I hope your sons feet are ok!!

£150 upgrade to PE sounds like a great deal for August! Result!

I've always used that number as it's included in my free mobile minutes rather than the 0844 numbers which can get expensive when holding for 20 mins +. Also very cheap to use that number from skype when abroad!

Luke :)
