Hi I have flown LGW to Vegas in PE. The seats were old but sitting upstairs was very nice. I am now booked to go PE to LAX. Its a 747. Do they have the new seats or the same ones as the LGW routes? Also I cannot book upstairs. Is this normal?

thanks very much

The LHR 747's have the new purple leather PE seats on them. The PE cabin on these a/c is all downstairs. If you select LHR 747 config 4 in the seat map section it will show the seat plan for you.

I must say it is unusual for the VS007 to be operated by a 747, it is usually a A346.

Thanks,
Nel

Much prefer the A340-600 most of the PE seats don't have the view obstructed by the wing and the 2-3-2 config is much better for couples

The VS7/8 is being operated by a 744 for a few weeks this summer just like it used to be in the old days! :D

Seems that a 744 on the VS7/8 is a longer term fixture next year from what I can see, certainly from end March to June y)

Oooh. How can I find out which days ? We are flying out on the 23rd July and back on the 20th Aug - Still showing as A340-600 when I look at seat selection

The VS7/8 reverts back to being an 346 on 17 July.

The 2-4-2 config on the 744 is also great for couples!

I prefer the 747's, in terms of cabins they both offer exactly the same.

All LHR 747 and A346 a/c are fitted with V-Port.
