Found my VS silver pen!

Not so long ago I realised to my horror that I had lost my VS silver pen, given out on my first UC flight (a lucky op-up) back in 2008.

And then the other day, unpacking a box of stuff that had been unopened since we moved house a few years ago, guess what rolled out...

Why am I telling you this? Well, it's quite a nice object, it brings back certain memories. Not so long ago there were discussions here about the incremental effect of small changes (i.e. cutbacks) on the UC product. At that time I thought these things were pretty intangible. Now I'm not so sure.

Anyhow, I've put the pen in a drawer, next to my treasured purple boarding-pass stub....

I keep my old VS silver pen in a cupboard along with a red satin cushion, a flower from the bar, a glass of T10&TWL and an edible UC meal. It's all a bit of a squeeze, but that's probably because the IFBT takes up so much room...

is this the long pen or the stubby one? i have one of the stubby ones but sadly i no longer have my polo mints or sample packs of cowshed.

i do have 'several' salt & pepper shaker sets...

Have a stack of those pens in my offices; some with a red ensign and some without

Is it the long pen with the red tail plane at the end? if so you can help your self to them in the lgw ch usually on the treatment reception desk.
I too remember them being handed out on flight very nice pen.

The ones handed out on flights didn't often have plane tails on the end, if at all; I never got one of those in flight. You can indeed pick them up in the CH, though not sure if helping yourself is really encouraged

Back when they were giving the Boateng amenity kits they had for a while stubby pens in black with silver trim and the VA lettering and logo in white. Of all the ones I have around those seem to be the ones that still work the best.

I still have the backend of a PE pen stuck in my left eye socket from when it "exploded"... Is it just me or are those things dangerous !

Totally! I used to have a couple in my briefcase because I am always losing pens. Somehow they would disassemble themselves into their component parts -- once I reached in for one without looking, and ended up with a shard of purple plastic sticking into my finger.
