Hi all,

I am on the VS200 tomorrow night and arriving into HKG at 17:50. I then have a Jetstar Asia flight out to SIN at 20:30. I'm pretty sure I've left enough time, however, a few questions:
- any suggestions how I can transit through HKG quickly?
- will VS at LHR be able to transfer my bags through to the Jetstar flight...I know...asking a lot
- If it's a 'no' to the above guess I will have to get through immigration, pick up my bags then check-in again?
- Does the VS Clubhouse at HKG have an arrivals option? For example, could I arrive into HKG, go and check-in for my JetStar flight and use my BP from my VS flight to get back into the Clubhouse?

Thanks in advance...

I can't answer your 1st three quastions but for the 4th - no you will not be able to use the VS lounge as an 'arrivals' lounge as it is only for departing VS passengers and they will ask for your onward VS BP and check their list of eligable pax.

My recollection of HKG is that it was easy to transfer in. I did it but then I was on a through ticket and my bags were tagged through and I just had to walk to a transfer desk.

Are your flights on the same ticket? If so, there should be no problem. If not, it does no harm to ask at check-in but if I were you I wouldn't hold my breath. :D I have a vague memory that there was a channel at immigration for transfer passengers on arrival but someone may be able to confirm that to you.

As to tonty has said you will not be able to use the VS Clubhouse as an arrivals lounge. It is very near the VS gate and there is no guarantee that your flight will depart from the same area and in any case it is small and space limited

Excellent, thank HL.

No, not on the same ticket so will have to see what my options are when I check-in.

I've just checked in and only managed SEQ 3 :(

I tried to resist the game...but you all make it look so much fun...

You get off VS200 gate 36 or thereabouts - right next to the trasnit area so that is easy. Just follow the TRANSIT sign, through security and you are in the departures area. Take you about 10 minutes. However, if you have checked luggage...

I think they will do that if the Jetstar sector is on the same ticket (which is unlikely). Not a problem - when you exit the plane there are all the airlines transit desks (VS usually exits next to them). Jetstar will take your baggage numbers and should arrange onward transfer for you. Then you just go through security (as above..)

If Jetstar will not do this (most airlines will) then..you will need to go through immigration (20 mins), collect them and then re-check them. The whole thing will take less than an hour BUT don't fret about it. I have never heard of the need to do this. Jetstar will arrange it for you.

There is no arrivals lounge and I doubt Jetstar have a lounge as it is a budget carrier.

I went on Jetstar to SIN in January and they depart from the terminal 2 in HKG but should be no big deal and whether that affects transfer passengers. Expect to head to the satellite concourse to catch a bus to a remote stand for the aircraft.

Actually there is really only one terminal in HKG.
For check-in purposes there is T1 and T2 but after you check-in at T2 the mini train takes you to the same departure area as check-in at T1 so for transit pax it makes no difference.
