Hi,

I was looking on the Virgin website for special offers for London to Hong Kong, and noticed a PE sale to Sydney (via Hong Kong).

Unfortunately, it's now too late to book this PE sale fare...

Does anyone know if Virgin will be having any more sales (in particular PE sale) to either Hong Kong or Sydney anytime soon?

I'm looking to travel late Nov, returning mid Dec 2011.

Cheers...!

Welcome

You are asking the 'how long is a piece of string?' question.

Whilst VS does have regular sales they don't appear on a regular cycle though you can generally expect a sale over Christmas and Easter for travel later in the year.

Even when they do occur not all routes will be covered and even then sale fares may not be offered in all cabins.

VS are unlikely to offer sale fares if normal ticket sales are going well or in peak season for particular routes.

THe only thing to do is keep checking the VS site.

It is very seldom that Hong Kong is included in sale fares as it is such a busy route. Even at regular prices it is often difficult to get a seat.

Stupid cheap fares from US to UK. Boston and Washington to LHR for $650 to $780 ish each way plus taxes and silly silly fuel surcharge.

BA is having a 48 hour sale from Thursday (haven't got much more info yet), so it's quite possible VS will follow with their own.

Indeed a BA sale is coming.....so VS usually follow, I have sen on Business Traveller BA will be offering £379 in economy to MCO, will be interesting to see if that price is matched by VS.

Just a heads up - some of the BA sale rates seem to be available now - might be worth checking if you want some specific dates!

There has been a considerable hike in fare prices since the 'special offers' ended on 22nd August. No doubt this is so VS can offer a Bank Holiday special seat sale and then bring the prices back down to exactly what was on offer last week!

I bagged two seats to LA for 9th Sept, in economy (better this than nothing I felt) via on-line Sunday night and paid £512.92. Price currently £668 - watch the fare come down tomorrow to £512 again ii).

You can pretty much always rely on there being a VS 'new year sale' in the late Dec/early Jan period. Usually covers travel in Jan, Feb, March.

There are some cracking BA sale prices available - especially of you need shuttles added on.

EDI - LGW - MCO and return £546 all in. y)

Looks like you go VS to LA mid-week in Econ for £456 and NY for £394.
