Hello All!

I have a question concerning extra legroom seats in Y (forgive me if this has been dealt with before).

As I understand it if you request and pay for extra legroom seats you do not get to pick which seat you would like. However are you able to make the exact selection when you do online check in or is it always determined at the airport?

I can understand this I guess for exit rows, but don't really see the need for this when looking at the extra couple of inches space.

Many thanks.

I belive it is because the positions of the extra leg room seats vary from plane to plane and it is only close to the flight date that an actual plane is allocated to it.

I thought all the 340-600s were the same? Does the sticky need updating?

Presumably this would allow selection at OLCI then? Anyone have experience of this?

We had booked exit row seats on VS5 to Miami last month and were not able to view/request/confirm our seats until we checked in at the desk. Not sure if this is normal practice but this is my experience - hope it helps :D

Need to add that is was a 747 (Mustang Sally)

We've booked extra legroom seats for VS49 out to MCO and VS6 back from Miami next month and we've been told that our seats will only be confirmed at check in because both flights are 747s and they cannot confirm the location of the seats in advance.

Having found the e-mail I got confirming our extra legroom seats, I thought it might be useful to post the 'Important Information' on here:

We will endeavour to seat couples, families and groups together however no guarantee of any particular seat number or its location can be given. Seat numbers will not be issued until passengers check in.

Purchasing Extra Legroom does not alter the terms and conditions of the ticket purchased nor does it alter baggage allowances, check in times or any other aspect of the Economy service.
