Hi Everybody

My First Post on here, and also going on my first UC flight, was just wondering if anybody could advise the best seats for a couple in upper class on the A340-600, Travelling on VS01 & VS02 in december.

Many Thanks

Hi, and welcome to V-Flyer.

My choices would be any of 3, 4, 5K. Nice and private facing the wall. Near enough the toilets without being too near.

Alternatively 12 and 14A are good. Again facing the wall but nearer the bar

I agree with HL, although our favourites are actually any of 10-12A, as I prefer to be a bit further away from the front toilet and like being in the middle so I can be a bit more nosey (I find being in the middle allows me to see more of the cabin/bar).

Enjoy your flight.

Thanks everybody for you replies, Since posting i did a forum search and found this has been asked on more than one occasion, so i apologise for going over old ground.

I've gone with Hney Lamb's suggestion and bookes 12,14a, Seats 3,4,5k were taken on the way out and are the snooze zone coming back so think 12&14a will be good for us, Thanks for your help, I'm really looking forward to the trip, Not going to be able to fly upper class everytime I fly, so looking to make the most of this trip. :)

Hello, thought I'd bring this one back to the top rather than creating a whole new thread.

We've booked UC to LAX on VS23 which is an A340-600, this will be our third UC trip.

Last time on the Airbus we had 9a/10a which were nice wall-facing seats but we disliked not being able to see each other. On the LHR 747 we had 20A&D which were opposite and we liked those seats.

The UC agent has put us in 6A and 7D on the A340, are these good opposite-facing seats? Slightly confused by the discrepancy in row numbers!

The only other seats taken so far are 2A&D, 9A & 8G, so we have plenty of choices.

hi clarkey

From memory 5A and 6D are indeed opposite each other -- personally I think that's the best section of the cabin to be in because you are a long way from the bar and on the opposite side to the nearest toilet (but not too far away).

Again from memory, you are quite a long way way from the other person. When I've travelled with someone else we decided in the end to sit 'next' to each other rather than split across the aisle. Even then it is surprisingly hard to communicate because of the herringbone design. This is where the ottoman comes into its own!

Have a great flight!
