BA has switched to its new Avios points system, and seems to have dropped the miles required to get to the East Coast USA from 90,000 to 80,000 miles in Club World. (First Class is now 120,000)

Seems better value to me compared to VS 90,000 miles, and makes it more tempting to accrue miles in their program than VS, unless... any chance of VS following the lead and re-evaluating East Coast routes?

Yes it is good value, and you can upgrade from WT+ to Club for 10,000 Avios per sector.

But, although I've never flown BA Club my perception of it is that it's inferior to VS Upper because:
- inferior lounges, with no waiter service for food, it's all buffet self-service
- no bar
- no PJs or duvet (just a blanket)
- have to pay either £60 or £80 (for upstairs on a 747) per person per leg to select a seat before OLCI opens, whereas those with status (Gold/Silver etc) get first dibbs.
- on the 'sleeper service' routes the menu looks extremely stingy compared to the VS equivalent, check out the menu in the trip report I have linked below. It clearly states 'or' between items, so you couldn't have brekkie of a bacon roll and some fruit for example.

That said, we are saving BA Avios by via Tesco Clubcard and will re-deem them at some point probably on a route with no VS service, so it will be interesting to compare.

They're not "or" options in practice. In fact I don't think they're even listed like that on the actual menu itself.
