Hi friends,
I booked my first UC flight with Virgin after having travelled quite a bit on PE over the last year, and I'm very excited to access the famous clubhouse for the first time!

I wanted to ask for some advice, since I will be there next Thursday (flight 9G LHR-JFK, departing 16:50). I recall having seen reports about the spa, advising readers to book early, is this still the case?

Any other advice for a new member? I am thinking of getting to the airport around noon, to give me enough time to unwind, get some rest, and get ready for my trip.

Also is there an arrivals lounge at JFK where I can take a shower before I continue my trip?

Any suggestions will be appreciated, thank you very much!

Welcome,

You cannot now book spa treatments in advance, you can only book on the day once you have arrived in the CH. there is now a range of free treatments but also so e longer treatments which are charged or so make sure you don't get confused and end up paying when there are free options.

There isn't an arrival at JFK I am afraid.

Go to the spa as soon as you enter the CH to try and book an appointment THEN go and find somewhere to sit etc

It won't guarentee an appointment but it might improve getting one over the slow coaches !

There is a menu of the free and charged for treatments on the VS website so have a read of that so you know whats on offer and the staff will appreciate dealing with a decisive customer!

Arriving at about 12.00 is a good plan - you will have some quality CH time but without it dragging on.

Enjoy, don't take too much advantage of the bar :| , try the excellent bread at the deli counter, wonder how in h*ll you're going to pay for the addiction you now have...

Exactly my thoughts!! I know it may be dangerous once I get in there :-)

Any recommendations for the spa services? I think I will try the "Gentlemen's restyle" or the cut throat shave, the descriptions look very tempting.. I'm open to suggestions of course! Anything except massage. I've been in china for the past month and I've had too many :)

It depends if you want to pay for a treatment or have a free one.

Personally I just have the basic facial. Had the basic shave once which was fine.

I've never had a haircut as you can't guarentee getting an appointment (might be diffetent if you could book like you used to be able to) so I go to my usual barber as I like to go on holiday with nice hair !
