Flights during the olympics...

I went home for xmas on PE, about 2wks after i booked UC wasnt much more but i had already booked and emails to virgin went unanswered (guess i should have called).

Anyway, I want to fly UC in the summer back to England but price with miles is around $2900 - is this a good price? should I book or wait for some sort of sale?

We tend to say on here that if you are happy with the price (whether ir be cash, miles or a combination of both) offered then take it.

You don't say where you are flying from though as that has a bearing on whether a flight is good value or not.

My view is that there is unlikely to be a sale for flights during the summer. You mentioned the O word and that is going to distort the market for flights to and from the UK this year.

For every person who wants to come to the UK it seems that dozens want to make the reverse journey and escape !

Presumably all those people who (if the Evening Standard is to be believed...) are coining it by renting their homes out to those who are visiting specifically for the Olympics.
