Thought this might be worth airing on here for future reference: I booked a couple of Zs this week, MAN-MCO - JFK-LHR, for one adult and one (spoilt, but beautiful) child. In the interests of frugality, I decided to shop around and found the flights some £200 cheaper on Ebookers than directly with VS. They also charged a credit card fee of 'only' £25 compared to the 60 odd quid that VS would have been asking.

My booking reference was displayed as soon as I paid and I was able to go straight onto the VS site and select our seats. My only worry is, how much money have I wasted over the years by booking direct...?

Sometimes they have been cheaper (ditto expedia) often times exactly the same price.

The main ongoing saving would have been on the CC fees rather than on the fare.

I reckon that all the on-line travel agents are much of the same regarding price. Like Tony says, the differences comes in the extra charges....remember that all T/A's have to build their prices around the airlines fare buckets and just take a 5 to 10% (ish) commission. They then have to cover their cost of sale (CC fees etc).If they want to do "deals" they can cut into their commission or even, sometimes have a pre arranged deal with the airline....probaly not with VS though!

Having said all that,IMHO, on-line T/A's are the only way to go for the AMS trick

Good result - I've rarely got the patience to do all the comparisons and monitoring!!!

Funny thing - when you were in BGI last, I was in MCO, you're now going to MCO at the same time (aprat from a day or so) that I'm going to be in BGI again!!

Is this the first time Tizer will have been to WDW? Assuming the 1 adult is you, and having done "Daddy and daughter" trips to Disney (Paris/Florida) myself, you've got a very special time coming up, that's all I can say!

Hi Al. Passing like planes in the night, are we not...?

The two Zs are to go along with the three Gs we've already got on the same flights, so it's a three-generational mdvipond trip this time. It'll be Tizer's third visit to Disney in Florida, but she first went to Hong Kong Disney when she was just 2. As I said earlier: spoilt, but beautiful.
