Morning all, it's been a while since I last posted after returning from safari- I think a tour of afghanistan and a 6 week old child explain that!

Anyway- now that we are avec baby I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions on travelling with a baby- I've heard 6 months is a good time and I have around 60000 miles, with 30000 Amex and 20000 spg points. Also 2 PE reward vouchers valid to dec. I was thinking of new York for a few days to see friends- and perhaps an upgradable to UC economy fare. Ostensibly it is somewhere to take the wife as well as she is suffering severe cabin fever!

Grateful for collective wisdom- I know there's not really much of a question here!

Your answer is potentially anywhere....
Very small babies are actually easier than the troublesome two's.....
As an example mini NH Trundled down to CPT at 8 weeks....absolutely no problem,
NYC, again no issue, and it is possible to navigate the town with pram in tow.,
I wouldn't restrict your travelling wants based on baby, trust me it's far less hassle when all they do is sleep, feed, poo and sleep....plus having such a little one in tow is a great ice breaker when visiting places....
90% of places have easy access to baby consumables and you'll find the earlier you fly with them the easier it will be into the future...

My personal experience with our cherub number 1... Took her to Turtle Beach in Barbados at 7 months - was an absolutely fantastic holiday, all the staff fussed around her for the whole week, and provided you can cope with getting up rather earlier than usual, I'd recommend it without hesitation.

Incidentally, we had tested the water with her at 8 weeks old with a shortish hop over to Majorca, so we already had some level of comfort that she'd be ok on a flight.

It's worthy of note that there'll be many worries and unknowns for the first trip, you'll find numerous VF's with experience who should hopefully alleviate concerns..
