I was there both days too in my new role but managed to get over to the VS stand and see a few of the old faces and the crew that were there looking great.
I agree with Richard about the stand being a little disjointed, a lot of people asked if VS were just there to sell their patent red leather shoes which were everywhere. We did try to see if there were any men's size elevens but they were all 4 and a half. Methinks that VS might have ordered a job lot of these for the crew and then realised that they only had 2 crew with size 4 and a half feet.
The competition was for 2 UC to YVR but of course, you have to pay all the taxes and fuel surcharge yourself so that is over £1k for the pair, of course I entered anyway!
The crew were as striking as ever and went around the show with cake stands full of lovely cupcakes and also with the usherette trays full of choc ices which went down well on our stand! Even as a competitor I managed to sneak a couple of cups of coffee from the crew who were very kind!
There were a fair few meetings going on but a lot of the time it seemed that the sales team were using this as an opportunity to catch up within themselves. I know that many of them are not office based but there should have been a lot more openess from them, they came across that if you didn't already do business with them then they weren't going to be bothered to talk to you.
So, even though they showed their support to the corporate traveller by being at the show and investing a lot of money in a stand that was completely brand new, you would have thought that they would have rushed through some taster brochures of the new UC now that it has (finally) been approved.
There was a good buzz about the show so hopefully a reflection of a bit of optimism from the front cabin traveller.
