Virgin Flyer New Member

Hi Folks

I've been visiting this site for a couple of years now, so as a Virgin Flying Club Silver Member, I think it's about time I made a contribution.

Virgin Atlantic is to withdraw 4 Airbus A340-600 aircraft by the end of this year and they are currently being offered for sale or long term lease by Airbus.

I was surprised by this news. I thought the older A343 planes would have gone first although I'm no expert.

I know that G-VTOP (Virginia Plain) is also departing early next year, but unlike some of you guys, I have had nothing from Flying Club to confirm this. This aircraft has just been repainted and looks factory fresh!

I'm interested in your opinions on this issue, as no-one has mentioned A346 disposals.

You are correct about the 4 A346 leaving the fleet this year, in fact we already have quite a big thread discussing the subject here, which you might find interesting.

Just for tidiness, I am going to lock this thread as that way it will keep all discussions on this subject in one place.
