Hi there,

My first post here on the forum, been reading posts for a while and everyone seems really helpful, so thanks for that first off!

I've got a quick question on using money plus miles - I have enough for some flights to Orlando I'm looking at in September. At present they bring down the price to around £970 each.

My question is, will this price drop in line with any sales on those PE seats, or is the 'miles plus money price' where it is, and I just need to keep an eye on how it compares to any sale price?

Also - if anyone knows from past history if there has been PE sales around this time of year for flights in September i'd be really greatful for any thoughts!

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Welcome

It seems that the price of a M+M fare is what it is and dosen't change during a sale which leads to complaints that they can be more expensive than an ordinary fare (which is true in some circumstances).

So if you are happy with the £970 fare then go for it. How does that compare with the normal fare?

Sales do happen but they don't always cover all routes, all dates or all cabins- e.g. the current offers don't include PE and Orlando is only in Economy but other destinations include UC.

Hi and Welcome to V-Flyer

MCO continues to be a very popular route - and surprisingly enough in both the PE and UC Cabins.

This means that getting Reward or M+M Seats can be a bit hit and miss especially around school holiday times.

My advice is that if you see a fare with M+M that you are prepared to accept, then take it as it may well go.

The Fare Finder on the V-Flyer Home Page is a good indicator when seats are at a premium. Even i can work out when the school holidays are now ;)

Thanks both for the welcomes and great answers.

Last September we booked economy and then upgraded to PE when a sale came later in the year, and the final price was almost exactly what I'm looking at for M+M now, so I think I'll do as you suggest and just drop on those flights and get the use of the miles.

Thanks again,

Matt

As a fairly regular PE traveller to PE, I would say that mid/late £900's is around what a PE sale price to MCO tends to be.

Of course that requires there to be a sale during the dates you want to go, but September is probably one of the 3 quietest months for loads to MCO so there does tend to be a sale covering that period most years. However, if you are happy with the price you have for MPM and want the certainty of specific dates then I would book now.
