Hi there,
We are taking a 10 week old baby and 2 other young children on VS0071 GLA-MCO on 1 April. We’ll be on an A330-300 and I’m guessing 2-class config so that will be either G-VSXY or G-VKSS.

After the baby was born I phoned up and added him onto the itinerary and booked a bassinet for him so I’m guessing bulkhead seats. When I try to reserve seats online there aren’t any bulkhead seats available, it’s suggested in the notes that these are reserved for check-in only.

Does anybody know if these seats will become available when online check-in opens or is it in person check-in? If I’m not able to do this online, does that mean I’ll have to be front of the queue at 7am on a Sunday morning to get checked in? I only live 5 mins away from the airport but I’ve got a young family to drag out of bed!

I’m also mindful that if I go in and try to reserve seats does that mean I might screw up the ones that have been pre-allocated to me by Virgin (although I can’t see them). It’s looking like a full flight and no doubt there will be several babies on board, I don’t want to lose the basinet.

Cheers!

I just answered my own question here:
http://v-flyer.com/forum/index.php?f=6&t=274070&rb_v=viewtopic

Easy answer:
Phone up and book the basinet
Don't try to reserve the seats online
Try the online check-in the day before but it probably won't work for the infant (book the adults on anyway)
Turn up for check-in as normal and it should all be ok.
