The checks have to be done at certain times with very little flexibility as to delaying them.

D checks are done at certain intervals and are planned in advanced. G-VOGE is going soon but the have to do the D check otherwise the aircraft will be grounded.
As previously mentioned, the checks are a bit like having an MOT on your car. Even though you might be planning on getting rid of the car, you still need one at the set time regardless.

From what I understand C checks are also carried out in Manila. These take place every 15 months or so and take a few weeks.
