Hi all

I've booked a couple of Y rewards to BGI next month and, when booked (and subsequently) have never had the option to enter my FC number against the booking via MMB.

I have just looked at MMB and I now have that option.

My question is - is there any point in doing this for a reward booking? (I am AU).

I have read on here before that any reward booking appears on flight manifests as a 005 number - so in theory my 009 AU number won't appear and thus the crew won't know I am AU.

Not that I expect anything more for flying Y on a reward ticket as AU, given the current thread about AU not flying J and special treatment etc, I would like to give myself any chance there is of even a name check, or a glass of bubbly ):

Slightly pedantic question I know :|

Thanks

David

You can always try and get them to enter it at check-in or in the CH. LHR check-in and/or CH concierge have done this for me in the past.

Sometimes reservations will also do this for you (but this is getting rarer now as I've even had Premier team say no to this in the past).

There are different fields in the system that only VS staff have access to that still attach a FC number to a reward booking (which prints it on BC's and manifests), whilst at the same time, prevents you from claiming miles.

This is yet another VS IT fail.

I read (on here probbaly) that the crew manifest lists FC Status rather than FC numbers.

I too have had the 005 FC Number but as I was in UC it didn't particularly matter.

I share your frustration with VS IT.

You would think that having made a booking as a FF the system would carry your number forward.

Like you I suddenly find I could enter FC numbers do I did. Being a miles + money booking no miles were due but I figured it costs me nothing to put the data in so might as well.

Thanks Tontybear. I suppose the manifest will only get the FC status from the number?

A personal irritation of mine is the flying club number changing as you change status... why!

Just had the option to put my FC number into my reward booking to ORD, so I did! Now the booking shows on my FC member page whereas it did not previously. i)

The crew manifest shows status and FC number. I can think of a couple of reasons why having your FC number on a reward booking could help:

(1) You can check in from your FC account rather than having to enter your booking ref. to check in.
(2) If you're in UC you can "demand" your first choice of food if necessary.

I have seen UC manifest lists where the FC numbers have been shown rather than status complete with an 005 number for one passenger

I've been able to see my reward flight booking on the member page since I first booked it :?

Thought I would share my experiences.

When I have made reward bookings, have only done them over the phone, and at the time asked to be able to access the booking through my flying club account, always been done, no problems. And when I check in I ask that my FC number be added to my ticket. Have always come up on the manifest with my FC number/status.

Based on this post I went into the My Booking page to enter my number for my reward flight only to find it is already there. It certainly wasn't some time ago because I remember chunnering away to myself about it and the fact that there was no way to enter it. I've been on to the page several times since but hadn't noticed when it had been added since my primary purpose was to check my seat selection.

I'm hoping that it will be reflected on the manifest if only because I know that this will be my last flight as Au :#

I have noticed that for quite a while now your actual ff number appears on the boarding pass (not the old 005005 number) on reward/upgrade tickets and the on board manifest shows your status.
The strange thing is that when you check online it does not usually show your number and you still have to call after to get any credit.
