I'm in the Gatwick clubhouse, having just had a very tasty breakfast and a couple of bucks fizzes.

I'll be on VS27 to Orlando in a short while (en route to New Orleans). It is slightly delayed (45 minutes) I suspect because of a last minute aircraft change.

I checked in last night and have an economy exit row seat 25C. That would be possible if it was a 744, but the activity stream here on V-flyer says I'm on a new 330, G-VSXY. On that 25C is in Premuim Economy.

I wonder what my chances of staying in the forward cabin are?

I suspect slim, but you never know. Maybe cockup = op-up :D

I'll let you know the outcome at the other end.

Cheers

Martin

It does look as though you are on the A333, unless that is going to be swapped.

I have noticed that when they switch aircraft, sometimes the system tries to place you in the seat with the same ID on the new plane. It would be odd, though, if that resulted in a change of cabin, as appears to be the case for you!

I was once shifted from 17A on a LHR 744 to 17A on an A346 -- and there is quite a difference!

Have a good flight!

I'd say slim. The aircraft is nearly full but the both classes have space available. Plus it may look like a last minute change but it would be planned (even if it doesn't look that way) as VS need the correct flight and cabin crew in Orlando to operate the VS28 this evening.

The answer was a beep at the gate and 25C very quickly became 50C xx(
There were quite a few disgruntled passengers who had "reserved" seats in advance or checked in online then had their seats changed at the gate.

Flight was fine apart from a 6 month old non-stop screamer behind me in row 51. Thank heavens for the QC15s, they earned their keeep. Just sat at gate 104 now wating for my onward flight to New Orleans.

Hi Martin,
I was on this flight too. It had several aircraft changes in the days leading to up departure. It was originally due to be an A330, then on Saturday 5th it changed to a 747, then a few hours before departure on Monday morning it changed back to the A330...
One particular passenger in PE was complaining that his seat assignment had been changed 5 times since he selected it online and was now seated right in the middle of the centre block of 3...
