Hello ladies and gents.

I'm due to fly man to mco vs73 (747) on July 10th and I've paid virgin to pre book some exit row seats for my GF and myself.

I appreciate that I'm flying in July so it's unlikely...but if I get offered a PE upgrade on checkin, where would I stand with the cash I've already paid?

I paid £80 for the exit row seats and another £40 for some extra legroom seats on the a330 for the way home.

Thanks for any advice, great forum btw... I'm a bit of an Aviation nerd so there's a wealth of information here :)

Thanks Nick for the welcome and the link.

I read that thread and especially enjoyed the discussion about sleeping on the floor :P

I'm not actually hoping for a free upgrade, but if offered a PE upgrade for £X I may be tempted however since I've already paid £80 for the exit row... I'm wondering if I'd lose that or use it as a contribution towards the upgrade :)

Welcome from me also.

While not exactly the same there was a thread that I can't quite find at the moment, where a pax had initially booked extra legroom seats and then upgraded to PE in advance of the flight. On that occasion Virgin gave a refund for the extra legroom seats.

I know you are talking about on the day upgrades, but I don't see why it should be any different.

Yeah I keep checking Manage my Booking daily, never know - could have somebody cancelling or upgrading to UC I guess!!

Either way, can't wait to fly. I've really got a "thing" for the 747's and I've not flown on one for a few years now, marvelous machines 8D
