Flew back on the VS44 in UC yesterday 28th July (arr 29th). Yes, the aircraft was a bit tired and in need of the coming refit, and yes the IFE was the old looped type so pretty much un-watchable. But you know what, by the end of the flight I couldn't have cared less; the crew were just amazing, and completely made up for any of these shortcomings.

My crew member in particular was the epitome of what a quality VS stewardess should be, to my mind; glamourous, attentive, happy, competent, hard-working - oh, and incredibly attractive! (No sexism implied - I'm sure the guys working for Virgin Atlantic can sometimes seem just as attractive to the ladies.) A genuine and warm smile from her made the food taste nicer, the seat seem more comfortable, and was much better to watch than any film!

I don't think the crew on any other airline I have flown with can compete with a top VS crew. Well done again Virgin Atlantic (and the crew of VS44 28/07) - another happy passenger!

Hi Adey,

Great experience for you!... y)

I know many on here will echo your praise and sentiment for the quality of VS crew. The quality of the CC makes or breaks a good flight. Majority of VS Crew really do have a great customer care mind set and is the reason that VS still attract a strong loyalty, even though the IFE is, for now, a bit creaky.

Make sure you pass your positive comments back to VS , the crew really do get to know about feedback..good or bad.

I wholeheartedly echo what has been said here. It is the Crew that can make or break a flight experience y)

When you get that committed member of Crew, then as you rightly say, it overcomes the defects you may have encountered.

I would strongly urge you to write to Crawley Towers to pass your praise on to those who ought to know

OK I would like to see this thread title changed to "VS Cabin Crew are still the best" for two reasons:

- VS calls them cabin crew.
- There are men and women.

And yes, I am in the camp that thinks some of the eye candy are the male CC ii) .

It's a fair comment, slinky and I had thought the same thing but the OP was referring to a particular female cabin crew and hence the title. I have however changed the title because I do agree with you.

I also agree with you on the eye candy comment but for an entirely different reason :o) ;)

Good point Slinky.....maybe a sticky on this subject to praise the efforts of certain CC (names per forum rules).......although a good TR covers the subject of CC quality it would be good to highlight good and bad for the V -Flyers knowledge. We know that VS management see this forum, so, maybe it could be used as an additional feedback link for them to evaluate performance....then both customer and supplier benefit..but then some unscrupulous poster might thwart the intention though!

Hi all,
Glad to have received so many positive replies to my post, so thanks everyone - I will certainly let Crawley Towers know how impressed I was with this wonderful member of staff. But I do stand by my original title - this great experience was due to one particular member of this crew, who happened to be my stewardess for the flight! However, I did make general mention of male cabin crew in the post too, so as not to seem sexist. But if I have to be edited to be more politically correct then so be it; I bow to your greater combined wisdom on political correctness, and revel in my ignorance of such matters. :D ;)
Mind you, if my original post ends up creating a sticky....viva politica! y)

This is good to know. I e-mailed VS after our flights in May/June to compliment the cabin crew and I mentioned them specifcally by name. I got a reply thanking me for my feedback and that it would be passed on to the crew. I wasn't sure if this was just standard polite reply or whether they do actually pass this to the crew. Happy to know that the crew do get the feedback y)

They do. One year I had a superb flight to EWR and emailed to compliment the excellent cabin crew. By chance he was on my next flight to SFO and remembered me from the previous year and thanked me for the comments I had emailed to VS
