I'm off on Sunday from Glasgow to Orlando with Virgin on the VS071. I'm wondering if someone on here can advise me about legroom seats.

Our party is 4 adults and 4 kids aged 8-13. I'm the only one who'd appreciate extra legroom but the others want to be sat together. We've managed to get 4x2 seats within 5 rows, but obviously this means that I cant buy a legroom seat (or even 2). I spoke to the customer service folks and they told me they'd "try" to sit us together but I'm worried that the other 7 will end up shunted into rows of 4 as a result... is there any way to handle this other than wait and see what happens at the airport.

I'm 6ft by the way and usually struggle in chartered flights hence the worry... maybe you can tell me that I needn't worry and there's plenty of room!

Thanks in advance.

I don't think the reference to charter airlines was suggesting that Virgin is a charter airline, more to the fact that the OP struggles in "charter economy", which in some instances is actually more generous in seat pitch than scheduled VS aircraft.

The seat pitch in all VS economy cabins is 31". The extra leg room economy seats offer an extra 3" legroom.

If you're 6' then you'll want the extra leg room seats. I'm also 6' and when I did the LON-SYD route a while back, 3 legs were in the extra leg room and 1 leg was in the standard pitch seats. The extra leg room seats were comfortable enough and my knees didn't touch the seat in front, but for the standard pitch seat, I either had to sit with my legs splayed or with me sitting at an angle to put my feet into the aisle.
