Change of FF number - Red to Silver

My flying club number has just changed again, back to silver having gone down to red last year with the TP changes.

Will I need to register this number with Hilton, Hertz, SPG etc. or will the old number automatically transfer miles earned with partners to the new one?

You can leave your FC number the same on your various accounts as they are linked at VS's end so the miles will end up in your account properly.

I have had so many FF numbers from Red to Silver to Gold to Silver to Red and back to Silver again, I have different numbers on various different external accounts (Hilton, Hertz, AmEx etc) and the miles always get in to my account.
