Hi all, I'm confused what I should have received or not.
Ive spent 20k on the card in the last 12months, I can see a companion flight voucher in my FC account, is that all I qualify for or am I missing 2 economy reward PE upgrades, if so where do I find those?
Correct me if I'm wrong 10k spend 1 PE upgrade
20k spend 2 upgrades?
Does the companion flight voucher cancel these ?| ?| ?| ????? ?| ?| ?|

Went through the same prob, just give VS a call and they will have record of them. It is another one of those things that take time to add I am afraid (think it's up to a month!!!!).

That being said I can't see mine on my account rundown either... huh maybe they are not added to the account we can view online.. Still can only be redeemed by calling VS so not to panic, they are only a phone call away :D

Nope they do not cancel each other out and given how hard the companion ticket is to economically redeem I would be annoyed beyond belief if that were the case.

The companion rewards seem to get added after you have reached the requisite spend (well within a week or 2..). The upgrade vouchers are only added after the end of the 12 month anniversary of taking the card (probably to encourage renewals of the Black card).

Thanks.
Do the upgrade vouchers have an expiry?
Will have a think about the black card, gotta get my head round paying the fee, more vouchers (if they are actually worth it) and miles do seem appealing.

The vouchers are valid for one year from issue.
You don't get more vouchers on the black card, but you do get them (2) for spending much less plus there are twice as many miles. I took out the White card last November then later in the year took out the Black card (you can't upgrade) so I'll get 4 PE vouchers and 2 useless companion tickets.
I figured the £140 fee is worth about 10,000 miles and I'll get many more than that spending on the Black card.

Just to add/clarify to what Martin has said. The PE upgrade vouchers have to be *used* within a year of them hitting your account, but the flight doesn't have to be within a year.

So if they enter your account on the 1st Jan 2012, you could book a flight on the 31st Dec 2012 for travel in October 2013, they just have to have been used towards a flight within the year period.

As I have a little personal experience on this subject, I'll just add a bit to what has already been said.

On speaking to a FC supervisor recently regarding my own issues I learnt this:

Firstly the Am Ex upgrade voucher actually can be extended past the 12month period as per their written T&C's "if there was extenuating circumstances preventing a booking being made prior to the closure point". An example given was if there had been an IT failure or malfunction - this is VS we're talking about, surely not ): Another example she gave was if there had been an initial significant lengthy delay in the voucher being allocated to a person's account.

Secondly as pointed out, the annual spend of £10k required to qualify for an upgrade voucher, must have been made on the AmEx credit card. So if you use the VISA card to buy a £10k kitchen from B&Q, you'll get the miles but the spend doesn't qualify for a voucher :(

I was told that any unused vouchers on the account will disappear on the very last day of the card's anniversary date. However it was acknowledged that new upgrade vouchers can take over 4 weeks to be processed onto a FC account and this could be problematic especially if there is a limited upgrade offer running, but apparently the delay is caused by MBNA informing VS of a person's entitlement.

Fortunately my own grievance concerning the AmEx cards and the upgrade voucher, has been satisfactorily concluded, so I acknowledge I am one person who does really know how well off they are! :) :)

Hev60, glad to hear yours has been resolved, I am still awaiting a reply regarding extending the AMEX upgrade :-(
I have PM'd you, so perhaps you can come back to me with details please.
Many thanks
