My final TP to reach Au for the first time credited about ten days ago. Since then, the VS website has said as follows:

'Congratulations, you've earned 40 tier points and have qualified for Flying Club Gold membership. You can expect to be upgraded soon and receive a Gold membership pack and card in the next few weeks. Your membership will be valid for one year and you'll be able to enjoy all the benefits of Flying Club Gold.'

My tier points for the year have reset to 0, but I am still showing as an Ag member. Any idea how long it normally takes for the account to be updated? When I when to Ag for the first time - admittedly a number of years ago - my recollection is the process was instant.

When I first attained AU it was instant. Got the email through and the online account showed gold the same day.

Perhaps it is different these days and the VS IT overhaul may slow the process. I would give it a few days, I'm sure any flights and/or mileage will be credited at the gold rate if you are flying off somewhere. 8D

It was instant for me and the card followed less than a week later.

Carrying on from the OP I am expecting to make AU flying Y to NYC in December for a weekend, will I be able to use the benefits for my return trip without having my AU card?

Many thanks.

If the account updates to gold auomatically then I imagine you wouldn't have a problem, particularly if you make sure your new gold number is in the booking. However, if you encounter the OP's problem then I think you will need to argue your case. A call to FC beforehand may help.

Your new Au FC number will start with 009nnnnnnnn so you should see that very soon in your online account. If you don't, I agree with the others here - call the FC Hotline.
