Hello all

I always thought that the purpose of on-line checkin was to save the airline having to print your boarding pass but after reading some posts I'm not sure now.
Is it possible to checkin online and not print your boarding pass, ie: will this make sure your seat is reserved for you and can you subsequently then print your boarding pass at the checkin desk ?

Thanks
Stu :D

Yes, you can do OLCI and not print your boarding passes. Even if you do print them, you can still get 'proper' boarding passes when you drop your bags off at the airport.

Thanks,

I always use OLCI to secure our desired seats (hopefully) then proceed to the checkin desks upon arrival at the Airport to check our baggage in and see if there are any bulkhead or exit row seats available and then get a proper boarding pass.

We always use OLCI mainly to ensure as far as possible that our seat requests come through ok. Sometimes print the boarding passes but even when we get to the airport the checkin agent nearly always prints 'proper' passes which is nice especially if you manage to get SEQ1 :D the stub makes a nice souvenir :D :D also gives you a choice of using either the bag drop or, if you are flying PE, using the check in desk. Depends which queue is shortest. If you are flying EC you can also avoid the long queues that build up for these desks.
