Aeromobile: Launched today onboard Beauty Queen

I really don't see what the big problem is to be honest...I for one will be trying the system if it's available on my flight to MCO

It's a sad reflection on today's world when we cant go more than seven hours without using a mobile. Makes you wonder how some people can get a full nights sleep

Digging up an old thread I know... But just out of interest, have VS been retrofitting Aeromobile on the LGW 744s? Anyone?

And further to that had anyone actually used it?

It would be interesting to find out. I recently flew back from LAS on G-VROM and on Jam (sorry VERA Touch) it stated that you could now use mobiles for calls, texting etc. But the usual announcement of not using them except in flight safe was made.

Sorry... I like things to be explicit. Do you mean that the 'equipment' for providing the service is installed in the aircraft but that its just not switched on yet? Or something else...?

Pretty sure when we flew the other day on a refitted a/c the FSM said Aeromobile was available, although I wasn't really paying much attention so can't say for certain.

Given the total lack of complaints or compliments here or Facebook about users etc. and hardly a mention on TR's, I'd say no.

I tried to use it on my way to and from ORD the other week.

As I'm not on O2 or Vodafone, I was unable to actually use it. You cannot even select the Aeromobile network unless you are on those two UK networks v( . Those are the only 2 mobile networks it works with apparently.

Im on Vodafone and thought i'd give it a go (purely for research purposes) on one of the LHR A333's but it just came up searching for about 5 minutes. Gave up and turned aircraft mode back on after that and didn't even bother on the return.

And further to that had anyone actually used it?

A couple of months ago I sent a text from one of the 330s to my wife "Hello from 36,000 ft etc etc...."

She got the text, thought I was barking mad and completely ignored me.

No change there then
