Actually status matching would make sense if they can't get their heads around reciprocal benefits, it'd be a quick way to achieve something - for example the upgrade window, checked bags, etc. It is something I wish they'd sort out pronto because it puts me off flying VX when I can get the same sort of benefits with BAEC Ag when flying on AA.
I'm not sure I made my point all that well; yes, I do agree they should offer benefits to VS Au's etc etc, but it serves me no purpose for them to status match my VS Au card as then that would require me to switch to VX elevate and if the VX elevate AU doesn't offer the same benefits as VS Au when flying on VS metal then what's the point, you're just robbing Peter an all that. So in that scenario status matching, which is an attempt to take someone from another scheme, another Virgin branded airline doesn't make sense and I would assume would be deeply, deeply unpopular with VS and VA.
What they need is a consistent Au level across the 3 airlines.
Truthfully VX is a mess, and it's starting to unravel IMO.
