Just upgraded to PE for my upcoming flight, slightly horrified to discover that whoever designed the menu has some form of mushroom obsession - whichever choice you pick appears to have some form of them in there! :$

Personally I can't stand the things, wondering if it's worth trying asking for a leftover meal from Y to escape them?

Not sure who's given you that information, but it's not the case. There's a Thai curry with no mushrooms being served.

Enjoy your flight.

Fantastic, the mushrooms were the impression I'd gotten from a link on VS's site - very much appreciate being in the wrong on this one :)

Definitely looking forward to both being back in America for a bit, and also my first ever PE flight

When I flew PE to IAD last year all of the meal choices were either cheese or cream based( both of which disagree with me) so I asked the CC if there was a Y meal that I could have instead, I was thinking something like the beef cobbler meal, they were extremely helpful and got me a very nice beef dish from upper, far more than I expected them to do. When it came to the afternoon tea which was the cheese and onion sandwiches the same CC remembered I didn't eat cheese and went and got me Tuna and Ham, again from upper. I would have been happy to have had the food from Y. It's always worth asking.

That's the kind of customer service that makes you want to go back, and as you say - there's no harm in a polite request. So far I've been very well looked after on all my VS flights (wish I could say the same of a certain other airline I flew with a few years ago!)

I'll post back on this after the flight with the outcome :)
