Hi Had a phone call from virgin holidays saying they have changed our Friday flight home from Antigua to the next day (sat), can anyone tell me why?

Also they want us to pay £200 for the extra night accommodation, i am just waiting for the to ring back to see if they can do any better. We will see.

Do any better !!! They inconvenience you and want you to pay for that inconvenience? Really ??
Where do you stand from a legal perspective?
I wouldn't be paying anything....

OK just got off the phone to Virgin Holidays and they said they will absorb the cost, just have to wait for the new invoice to make sure they keep to their word.

Does anyone know a reason why the have change our flight to Saturday, I looked on virgin Atlantic website and it looks as if there is still a Friday flight :?

I'd politely tell them to stick the £200 somewhere uncomfortable! That's totally ludicrous. You should be paying nothing, and in fact should probably be compensated for the extra cost of being away for longer than booked.

The cheeky ****. That smacks of sharp practice to me, and the worry is that if they've called everyone in your situation with the same demand, a few people might have paid up without thinking.

Hopefully just the actions of a 'misguided' member of staff rather than actual VH policy though.

I had a similar thing with our flight to YVR in June being brought forward by one day. After several phone calls to VH customer services, they have said they will cover the extra night accommodation and days car hire. It seems VS have altered some of their flight schedules, and it is taking a while for the information to get through to VH. :?
