Hi and welcome.

It will be either a 747 or A333 depending on which flight number and which date.

You can also get a good idea by seeing which particular planes have flown this route in the past using the toolbox above (select which aircraft? option).

The main Virgin Atlantic website tells you which aircraft they are anticipating to fly the route. If you do a dummy booking for your dates, then click "Flight Info" located just to the right of the flight information - it tells you the aircraft type.

It sounds like you have already made the booking. If so log into your ff account click on "manage my booking" then choose my seats, should show which equipment is supposed to be operating.
Though August is a long time off! And things do change.
Enjoy your holiday. 8D

Hi snoopy. If i were in your shoes i would keep fingers toes and anything else that does cross, crossed that its a 747-400 and not the new a330/300 ,
I returned last eeek from orlando on a a330 for the first time after many years flying the same route on a 747.
Lets just say i wont make the same mistake again if at all possible.

While I do like the 747, I have to say after a run of flights on the A333 (in PE) I really can't see the hate for it. It's extremely quiet, it has all the latest seats and IFE so once I'm in my seat it really comes down to the crew to deliver the service rather than the a/c I am on.

I would take an A333 with a great crew over a 747 with an average crew any day of the week, and we have had excellent, good, average and awful crew members on all a/c types, so I don't buy the stuff that the crew give a worse service on the A333 at all.

I completely agree with Neil. Having undertaken several flights in a 333 and many on a 747, I think the 333 is much quieter and the IFE is great. As Neil says, it really all does come down to crew.
