Fly to Vegas in March and already chosen seats, but looking tonight, it appears I can view my seat map for the return flight, but the outbound flight shows the option of View the Seat Map and when you click on it, I get an error

Any idea of a potential issue, or just one of those things? Almost 40 days to go now - and this countdown has taken forever!!

Only 60% of seats are available for pre-selection, so once that amount has been reached the seat map locks again as there are no options to choose/change to.

See, you ask the question, you find someone who knows the answer!

Thanks for that Neil - main reason I asked is last time I flew out to Vegas, I had a text message around 3 months in advance to tell me my flight had been cancelled and put back a day. Called to see if I could put my return flight back a day to maintain the holiday length and was told yes, but I'd have to pay! Won't print my response, but suffice it to say that the charge was waived! Wouldn't want to be going through all that again in a hurry

I'm getting the same error message for my flight to Barbados in February. When I contacted customer service I was told that there was an IT problem of which they were aware and it would be fixed very soon. I was assured that my seats were still as selected.

Yes, I've been getting the same error and it's definitely not to do with the 60% allocation rule. Basically it says you can click on the seat map, and then it doesn't let you. Bless the IT folks at VS, I think they just crave attention sometimes...

I get this error too, which as rc says above is not normal behaviour or anything to do with the 60% rule. When that threshold has been reached, you should get a "View the seat map" link instead of a "View or change seats" link. The former should show a seatmap, with no option to change.

I called the Au hotline to check that my seat requests for UVF on Friday were still in place and they were. I presume the next time I'll be able to see them is at OLCI.

........ unless of course VS IT manages to get something sorted before then... :w :w

Strange, can still see the seat map for my flight in March.
(wish I hadn't seen the seat map though for my flight with BA next week to Tel Aviv as they've switched aircraft and Club World has gone to CLub Europe :( )

Same problem here. I 'reserved' seats for our Easter flights, MAN to MCO at the 90 day point.

I usually double check our seats are still selected every week or so. When I checked last week I could still access our outbound seat plan but not our return.

I used the online 'chat' facility. The first advisor said it was due to an IT error and it would be fixed shortly. When I enquired again a few days later I was informed that since the 90 day rule came in, once the allocation of pre-bookable seats were taken, the seat plan would then not be accessable?!? Can't say either explanation rings true, perhaps if I ask again I will get a different answer again.....

Either way, the 'chat' advisor was able to tell me that she could see that we did have seats 'reserved' for both flights and they were indeed the seats I had previously selected....
