I'll be on the new MAN - LHR route in April (VS3046), connecting for a flight to LAX (VS007). My question may seem silly but was wondering if I need to check in at Heathrow for the second leg? Just not sure as the MAN-LHR leg is operated by Aer Lingus in behalf of Virgin.

Cheers

I think you should be able to check yourself all the way through.

I saw on another thread that there would be buses to take connecting pax from T1-T3 and bypassing security (as have already been pre checked by UK border control at MAN).

UKBA have nothing to do with security. Its the airport operator.

I'd expect VS to let you check in all the way through

Yes if you are on a single booking for both legs of the journey VS should check you in in MAN. You may be able to get an airside bus on landing at T1 but you'll still need to clear transit security at T3.

I'm sure on the Virgin website it also states if you have booked the MAN-LHR and LHR-LAX sectors on separate tickets then you just need to advise the check in agent and they will check your bags all the way to final destination for you.

I would hope so as both flights are with "virgin".

Thanks for the responses, I was just a little unsure as it was operated on behalf of Virgin by Aer Lingus. Its just not clear on the booking. It also states it arrives to LHR at terminal 3...is that right?

Outward
Check In: MANCHESTER, MANCHESTER, Terminal 3
Arrive: LONDON, LONDON HEATHROW, Zone A, Terminal 3

No, the VS short haul flights use T1.
